The Age of Aquarius

We are currently in the tail end of a 2,000-year transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. This transition will officially occur on December 21, 2020 when Jupiter and Saturn align in Aquarius, also known as the Great Conjunction.

Aquarius – An Air Sign

Have you felt overwhelmed by the massive amount of information available to you? Have you been uncomfortable with the increased exposure to different perspectives and realities in recent years? These experiences are becoming more common and unavoidable, in part, because the coming Age of Aquarius will emit the energy of air signs to all of society. Air signs typically find Truth unavoidable and powerful while being nebulous and fleeting in nature. Air signs, including Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, are known for their exceptional ability to communicate, analyze, and think cerebrally.

Fighting against the knowledge revealed during this Age will nourish your Ego but deprive your spiritual body. You must relinquish control and find comfort in the uncontrollable.

Aquarius – Ruled by Uranus

As the 7th planet from the Sun named after the Greek god of the sky, it is no surprise that Uranus is a unique planet in our solar system. Also known as the “Awakener”, Uranus is known for its ability to surprise, liberate, and awaken. In this Age of Aquarius, you might find yourself questioning the status quo, revolting against “normal”, and freeing yourself from the shackles of your Ego. Uranus rejects attachment to the way things are and urges you to question your reality.

This process can stir up uncomfortable thoughts and feelings but these are symptoms of a spiritual awakening. Yes, Uranus can send you into a spiritual awakening, whether intentional or not. Some of these symptoms include: craving meaning and purpose, a sense of living in a false reality, amplified senses, new interactions/reactions to food, vivid dreams, changes to sleeping patterns, and dizziness and fatigue. Keep reading below for some practices to help you work though this awakening!

Practices to Aid your Spiritual Journey:

Overview (Read Below for More)

  1. Transform your Perspective

  2. Shadow Work

  3. Meditation

  4. Grounding

(1) Transform Your Perspective

Truth is an interesting concept. As spiritual bodies, we are intrinsically connected to each other and all other energy, this is a universal Truth. However, as human beings we are naturally connected to our Ego through our human vessel. Thus universal Truths do exist, but our human form has a tendency to place value on the perceived truth created by our Ego. We all exist in our own reality and our Ego impedes us from seeing that we are all One. Here are some guiding questions to help you transform your perspective:

  •  Why do I think that my reality is accurate?

  • How can I work to understand different realities?

  • We all have the power to choose our own reality, why am I choosing one that does not serve myself and others?

(2) Shadow Work

Shadow work is an important tool to help you release attachments and understand your cognition. We do warn against shadow work if you are new to your spiritual journey as it can release negative frequencies which regular practice will help you to cleanse. Here are some guiding questions:

  • Why do I feel the need to control this?

  • Why does this information bring me discomfort?

  • Why am I choosing to attach to these feelings of discomfort/frustration/etc.?

  • How does I impede my own ability to connect with the Oneness of the Universe

  • Take a look at someone/something you dislike: How do parts of yourself connect with this?

(3) Meditation

Meditation is another tool we can use to open ourselves to the Universe. If you are new to meditation, don’t worry! We will be making another blog post with tips and tricks, but the most important thing to remember is that there is no “right” way to meditate. For me, barefoot walks in nature and knitting are the best settings for me to enter meditation. For you, it could be laying in a dark room, fixing your eyes on a stationary object, dancing, yoga, running, or any number of things. The important thing is that your chosen environment allows you to focus on your spiritual body.

(4) Grounding

As we have mentioned earlier, we are all connected to a collective consciousness. However, it can be easy to lose sight of this connection with the noise of day-to-day life. Here are some techniques we use to reconnect with the Universe:

  • Journal as a tool to help you connect with the power of the Universe (ex. manifesting)

  • Practice gratitude and thank the Universe for every experience you have, as they are all opportunities for you to grow your spiritual self. One technique is to write down 2 humans you are grateful, 2 living creatures you are grateful for, 2 objects you are grateful for (every object has a lifeforce), and 2 elements of nature you are grateful for.

  • Spend time in nature, in your natural form, to connect with the energy of the Universe.

  • Use crystals as a tool to realign your energy frequencies.
